Young child is hit by car in parking lot auto accident and dies

Any auto accident in Louisiana can have terrible consequences with catastrophic injuries and death. Some of the worst kinds of car accidents involve pedestrians. Unfortunately, these often involve children. When there is an auto accident with a child who is not in a vehicle, there can be broken bones, head injuries, spinal cord damage and the worst-case scenario of a fatality. Those who have been affected by a crash in which the car accident victim was a child should know their rights to seek compensation in a lawsuit.

A mid-morning accident in which a 7-year-old boy was hit by a pickup truck led to his death. The accident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a shopping center. Emergency crews were called and the boy was taken to the hospital, where he died. In the law enforcement investigation, the 32-year-old driver of the pickup was given tests to determine if he was under the influence, but he was not believed to have been impaired. The child's parents are business owners in the shopping center. The child was given CPR before emergency crews arrived, but attempts to save him were unsuccessful. The investigation is ongoing.

After a car accident, there are many issues that can and inevitably do arise. If there are injuries, there will be medical expenses, possibly long-term damage and other issue that can make life difficult for the victim and the family. When there is a fatality, there will be funeral expenses and the emotional and personal aftermath that must be addressed and can take substantial time to get beyond. If the fatality involves a child, the aftereffects are exponentially worse for the parents and other loved ones. While a legal filing is not going to bring the loved one back, it can help with the costs and provide compensation to try and move forward.

A child died when a pickup truck hit him in the parking lot of a shopping center in which his parents own a business. Since child accidents are so difficult to get beyond and the circumstances of the case can be hard to discern, it is vital that the parents have legal help in an investigation and to pursue litigation. A caring attorney with experience in helping the families of a car accident victim should be called immediately.
